Errata
In the Pizarro & Co. rundown, we failed to mention that the money bidding cards are worth different amounts of victory points at the end of the game. The larger the bid card the less victory points they are worth at game's end.
Although our roving reporter Mike didn't find the new Talisman at Toy Fair, the fine folks at boardgamenews.com did. Here's a picture of a prototype of the new game!
The new Talisman will be released on October 7th and retail for $50. The game will be available in the U.S. only through Alliance Game Distributors.
I'm sure there are some other goofs in there somewhere. Let us know if (when?) you find one!

Sommelier crash & burn!
My original inspiration for the challenge that I posed *was* actually the game Rosenkonig. I saw the roses and Valentine's Day was approaching and I wondered if there were other 2-player games that could possibly be construed as having a romantic element (*sans* porno soundtrack, thank you!). Relationship Tightrope is a good fit but it's for a minimum of 3 players.

Tim, Sorry the sommelier picks did not help you in your search for romantically themed games for two. My original intent was to find games that were indeed romantic. After a bit of research, I found that all the games marketed as romantic games were really just tools used to enhance sexual foreplay. By the time I realized that the games I was looking for did not exist, it was too late for me to change gears

We'll see what Dave has to say, but you certainly had Dave squirming with this challenge. And it's always good to get Dave every once in a while! We never tell each other our picks before we record, but Dave did warn me that he had some real "winners" for the Sommelier this week. And boy did he!
Maybe we'll have to give this one a go next year just to see if we can top it. Crap, that means it will probably fall to me!

If you like alot of mayhem, chaos, and general craziness when you're playing games, I'm the Boss is a lot of fun. It makes a nice filler game, too, since the game can end as early as deal #10.

Rage vs. Wizard
I've had my eye on an "Oh Hell"-like game, except it's Wizard. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/1465 . Ever heard of it? For what it's worth, it's got twice as many people rating it on BGG, and has a higher overall rating.
Rage or Wizard?
I have played Wizard many times. It is a great game. The three main differences are: 1) In Rage, your hand size starts at ten and is reduced by one card in each successive hand. In Wizard, your hand size starts at one and is increased by one in each successive hand. 2) In Rage the total number of tricks bid cannot equal the total number of tricks available. In Wizard the total number of tricks bid may or may not equal the total number of tricks available. 3) Rage has special cards that give bonuses and penalties to the winner of the trick and other cards that change or eliminate trump right in the middle of a hand. Wizard has none of these cards. It is this unpredictable zaniness that casts my vote in favor of Rage. Dave
