Episode 440 - Daybreak
Release Date: May 24, 2024 |
|
Running Time: 210 min |
We live on a planet whose average temperature is rising. Climate change is happening all around us and the rate of that change is sure to bring far reaching and often catastrophic consequences on a scale humanity hasn’t seen or dealt with before.
But all hope is not lost.
If the collective will, intelligence, and resources of societies around the globe can be marshaled to confront the overlapping challenges posed by climate change, we can create a path to brighter days ahead.
Daybreak is a cooperative board game about stopping climate change. It is an unapologetically hopeful vision of the near future, where you and your friends create the technologies, policies, and resilient societies we need to sequester more carbon than we collectively produce.

Matteo's pizza tips:
You can save time and get excellent results with a flat bread base, such as naan, pide or garlic bread. Experiment and see which makes the best pizza.
Gather different toppings and turn the pizza making activity into a social game :)
Don't overload the pizza. My rule of thumb is 3 ingredients max (not including the mozzarella). For example, a recent favourite is a white pizza (no tomato sauce), with mozzarella (or Mozzarisella), rosemary, squash, and bacon (or a meatless alternative) chopped up very thin
The oven needs to be really hot, as hot as you can get it. If you can crank your oven to say 250ºC then it will only take about 5 minutes to melt the cheese and cook the other toppings. But you need to keep an eye on it, and look for the mozzarella to "bubble up" and get a little brown. That's when the pizza is ready.

Stephen | Recipe: Grilled Fish Tacos Game: Ice Cool
Recipe: Grilled Fish Tacos
2-4 filets mild white fish (tilapia, catfish, cod)
Mix up cumin, paprika, onion powder garlic powder, salt and pepper into a spice rub.
Small batch 1 tbsp of each. If you want to have extra for another batch, double it.
Set up grill with temp somewhere in the 275-325 range.
Brush each side with olive oil
Sprinkle each side of the filets with the spice mixture.
Place on grill (use a grill mat or a piece of foil folded to double or triple thickness)
Cook until each side is gold brown (wont take long 3-5 minutes a side maybe less) Fish will be white and flaky when fully cooked.
Remove from the grill and cut the filets into smaller pieces (pieces that will fit on a tortilla)
Serve with some shredded carrots or cabbage, slices of avocado and small tortillas.
Add Hot sauce and sour cream to taste
