I was at Origins, but had to leave after 2 days (of which I spent most of one in bed, and the other in the auction) because of a brutally severe sinus infection.  I didn't get to demo any of the scads of new games I wanted to play, and even worse...I didn't get to buy any of them!

This episode is just salt in the wounds...but thanks for putting it together :)

It doesn't make up for not being able to play as many games, but, at least you can live vicariously through us for a few hours listening to the show.

I think we passed each other on the escalators at one point. You were looking pretty tired and worn down. Sorry you had to miss so much of the con.

Yeah, I started to feel a little under the weather the day before, by Thursday morning, I was running about a 103 degree fever.  The doctor gave me some medicine that the local pharmacy doesn't even stock (powerful stuff!) That finally broke the following Wednesday.  I'm actually still battling some of the symptoms over a month later.

Luckily, I have been able to sneak in a couple gaming sessions.  Not as much as I'd have liked, though.

Also, while I'm here.  I'm helping a friend out with a new hybrid gaming and food blog (so far, it's tiled more towards gaming) and was wondering if there was an official place to "pimp" the blog here on the forums.  I don't want to seem like I'm being spammy by promoting it before asking.

Having battled pneumonia at one point in my life, I know how tough it can be to shake something that really takes ahold and won't let go. Rest up and get well soon.

You're welcome to post about any game related topics here on the forums. We have a general gaming category (Games, Gaming and Gamers) in the forums, so by all means post away!

I am always glad to provide persistent links on our blog roll in the right sidebar as well.

It was great to hear about Kevin Nunn using games to teach probability.  I also teach math, and I taught statistics just this past spring.  I recently played the game Manila, and I couldn't stop thinking about calculating expected values the whole time I was playing.  For me, the game was just one big exercise in expected value (which didn't stop it from being a lot of fun!)

Maybe it would be worth trying this one out with the probability students.  I think it might be a bit more complicated than the other games he mentioned using, but it's not as complicated as Power Grid! :)
