Support The Spiel

Seven years. 170+ episodes. 300+ hours of game reviews, history, and general silliness. That’s over 12 continuous days of The Spiel. Not that I’m recommending that for anyone unless they want to lose some serious sanity points!

The Spiel has reached critical mass in many respects. We have learned and grown so much and as a result of our many hours of hard work and fun - an opportunity now stands before us.

An opportunity for the show to grow into its own as we move forward.

You see, I believe big things can be built from small acts of generosity and support.

And that’s where you, the listeners come in.

Who hope we can inspire or convince you to make a financial contribution to the show.

Now this donation doesn’t need to be extravagant to have a significant and lasting impact for The Spiel and for us. Brick by brick - big things, mighty things can be built. And each of you can help us build it.

With that in mind, I’d like to suggest some new ways for you to show your financial support for the show at whatever level you’re able.

We produce 25 2-hour shows each year. That’s 50 hours of entertainment and enjoyment coming to you every other week.

At $1 an episode, that’s a one time donation of $25.

At .50 cents an episode, that’s a one time donation of $12.50.

In relative terms, the average song or app on iTunes will cost you $1 a pop. Week in, week out, is The Spiel worth the price of a song or an app? That’s for you to decide.

In gamer terms, the average board game retails for around $50. Is the information and entertainment you get from The Spiel worth the cost of half a game? Again only you can answer that question.

If it’s easier to spread your contribution out over time, that’s fine too. you can subscribe to The Spiel at levels ranging from $1 - $6 a month.

We’ll certainly accept your generosity in whatever amount or form you deem appropriate.

Remember, though, there is a goal behind this new framework

These very modest contributions from $12.50 to $25 and up can have a tremendous and transformative effect on The Spiel.

We’ve seen it happen before. Think of once small game companies that have blossomed like Rio Grande and Z-Man and web sites like Board Game Geek.

The Spiel, our labor of love and passion can be one of our ways to make a living.

Knowing our track record of quality programming and knowing how many of you are out there listening, I am going to take a leap of faith of my own and say I believe in my heart of hearts we can make this happen.

The first and most scary step for us is to ask.

We need your help to make this happen.

The results would have a tremendous impact on the show, our lives, and our plans to grow as we move forward through another season of The Spiel.

If you value what we do and you’d like to contribute, simply use the buttons provided below and you’ll be able to donate in the ways I’ve just described.

As always, for each contributor we’ll award a game-themed nickname on the show.

Thank you for putting The Spiel in a position to take this next step. I am ridiculously excited about the prospects for the show, our next films, the tv series, our game designs and other fun and stupidly ambitious plans still in their infancy. With your support, I can’t wait to see how far we can go.

If you’ve already contributed as a donor or subscriber, THANK YOU!

If you haven’t here’s how you can show your support for The Spiel.
