GenCon 2011

By Karrde - Posted on 08 April 2011

Is it too soon to be thinking about this?  I have a good excuse having just won a free ride there.

Hopefully dinner won't be quite the disaster (speaking only of service, not company) this time around.

I felt like I "did" the con incorrectly last year, focusing too much on gaming and not enough on the con.  Outside of my mandatory appearance in the Catan Tournament I plan on re-priortizing that.

Look forward to seeing you guys again, and hopefully I'll get to play a game with you.

Yes, there will be a Spiel dinner and yes I think we'll be able to avoid the craziness from last year. Sorry things were so chaotic.

I'm hoping we can arrange for a separate room at a local eatery that's a little off the beaten path which should allow us to avoid the crowds.

That said, no details have been worked out yet but I'll certainly be posting them here and announcing them on the show when we do.

With the huge convention center expansion, there will be tons of open gaming space at GenCon under the same roof, so we shouldn't have to trek all over creation to find tables to play.

I remember going to Rock Bottom one night for dinner last year.  They had a cellar "pool room" that was closed off for a private event the night we were there.  But you guys know the area better I'm sure.

Oh, and what was that pork thing I'm supposed to try?

This is my first Con and I am really looking forward to... well everything. I hope to meet up with you guys and my fellow Spiel listeners for the annual dinner.
