The Spiel-a-thon is a one-night event hosted by Stephen Conway and David Coleson.
There are at least three opportunities for entertainment at the Spiel-a-thon: play games, meet the Spielers, and win prizes!
Play Games - You can play latest and greatest games from Rio Grande Games courtesy of company President, Jay Tummelson. Jay will have lots of new titles and plenty of old favorites to choose from. Based on last year's giant crowd, we'll have space for several hundred gamers to play!
Meet the Spielers - You can meet Stephen & Dave, co-hosts of The Spiel. With an ever-growing audience of game enthusiasts, we love getting to meet listeners and introducing new folks to our show.
Win Prizes - You can win prizes just for showing up! Each attendee will receive a free raffle ticket. Prizes will be drawn throughout the night. There will be free gamesto win, plus Spiel T-Shirts and custom dice, plus a ultra rare copy of Risk: Black Ops as the grand finale. New prizes are still being added to the pool every day.
But wait, there's more! You can buy buy additional raffle tickets and help kick-start The Spiel Foundation, a new non-profit organization dedicated to donating quality games to children's hospitals and senior centers.
What is The Spiel Foundation? It is a charitable organization whose mission is to bring great games to children and seniors in hospitals and convalescent homes. Put simply, The Spiel Foundation wants to open the wider world of games to people who could use an hour or two of fun, challenge, and enjoyment in their lives. The Spiel Foundation hopes to gather financial resources to donate games starting at the local level in Indianapolis. We hope to expand to serve other communities over time. |
Anyone who attends the Spiel-a-thon can purchase additional raffle tickets and the money donated will go straight to the Foundation. You can use these tickets to play a game versus Dave or Stephen. If you win, you'll get even more tickets for prizes. We'll make a few announcements about the Foundation during the event, but this will not be a hard-sell by any stretch!
The point of the Spiel-a-thon is to play games and have fun. And if we can raise some money for a great cause along the way, so much the better.
This is an open invitation to anyone and everyone. If you love games, you'll have a great time. And even if you don't love them, come anyway and I bet we can find one or two that will change your mind. See you on August 15th!
